Send a Prayer by SMS to the
Western Wall - Sep 25 2003
It is a centuries-old tradition to place a note with
a prayer or request in the Western Wall and for years, several Web sites
have been offering Jews around the world the option to send their
prayers by e-mail to a rabbi who prints them out and places them in
Jerusalem's Western Wall.
Now an Israeli company is
offering to do the same, but with text messages, for a fee (five
shekels, about $1.20). So far 30,000 text messages have been received,
according to
iol.
